Le Yaca – Williamsburg
Le Yaca was born in Courchevel, a vibrant village in the French. The idea was designed by Daniele Bourderau Gerard, who thought that the owner of a small eatery would be enjoyable. Their friends were doubtful about their plan of whether people would travel from eight kilometers to the road to visit and enjoy a meal.
After spending three months and deeply thinking about that plan, they shook their shoulders and said, “Yaca le faire,” a short form of a French saying that means, “We should do it.” They jokingly constructed their place Le Yaca, but the customers joked about them and started coming up with their playful way (let’s go). After a few months, Daniele migrated to the U.S., and Le Yaca in Williamsburg inaugurated this restaurant.
In 2001, the restaurant was handed over to Daniel Abid, who had gained a lot of experience working in famed destinations like “Le Pre Catelan” and “Lenotre” in Paris and “L’Amandier” and “Roger Verge,” eventually this point gain success in the name of “Alain Ducasse.”
