One of the most frustrating experiences that anyone can deal with is that the toilet is blocked, and even this condition will be very bad if it is in your own toilet. Then you will want to get it sorted as soon as you can. In this article, you will learn some of the techniques that you can use to unblock your toilet by using products that any store stocks as well as items within your home.

How does a toilet work?

There is mainly a tank to hold the water, which is mostly interlinked to the water supply system; a bowl, which is normally elongated, has a lid that allows water to flow through the bowl; and an exit for the waste.

When the toilet is flushed, then gravity pulls water from the tank down into the bowl at a high pressure as it carries away the waste. These may include the horizontal outlet toilets and the vertical outlet.

Methods of unblocking a toilet

1.hot water

2.plunger

3.Baking soda

4.toilet auger

5.pressure washer

Hot water

Some people believe that by using hot water it is possible to have it removed. Firstly, switch off the valve that supplies water to your toilet bowl; this is done because the tank does not fill up again. After that, wear rubber gloves and remove as much water as possible so you don’t move; the main purpose is to place it in a bucket. Next, add half a glass of washing-up liquid into it and wait for ten minutes to be sure that its slippery surface shows on the top.

Finally, after 10 minutes, slowly add 2-3 liters of hot water, but keep in mind that you should not add boiling water into the bowl because it creates pressure on the blockage. Open the tap of the water and pour it fast, but be careful as your hand does not burn.

After doing this, wait for a few minutes to check if the water level is reducing or not. If it doesn’t fall and there is depth in the toilet bowl that provides the liquid, do it one more time. If the problem does not solve and still continues, then the next step is to hit the sink with a plunger.

Plunger

First of all, submerge the plunger into the water and block the exit hole that exists at the bottom of the toilet bowl. In case you do not get a secure fit with the plunger head, then you should use some old products to block the gaps. Some things include warming up the rubber of the plunger as you can warm running water on it from the hot tap.

Then put an excessive force in order not to move the blockage to a deeper section of the pipe. Shake it a little towards the bottom, then lift. gradually increase the pressure on the door push and pull until the water stops running. In this case, excess water is required, then pour additional water into the bowl and again perform the same process. Hold it for 2 minutes, then pull out the plunger and check if the water flow runs as usual.

Baking soda

The next step is to apply almost half a cup of baking soda to it. Then heat 2–3 liters of water in a saucepan. When the water starts boiling, then you have to pour a half cup of white vinegar into the pan.

In the toilet bowl, combine a little vinegar with water, and then put the lid back down on the toilet. When this is mixed with the baking soda, it will start a chemical reaction that should produce a lot of foam. Then hold this mixture for half an hour to work, then turn on the tap and check whether the blockage has cleared or not. and whether the water reduces or not.

Toilet auger

If the above methods do not work properly, then it is time to use a toilet auger if still the toilet blockage is not solved. Toilet augers are actually flexible rods that can be implanted into the bowl, and it helps in clearing the blockage. According to the type of blockage, the auger can rupture it, reduce it into small pieces, or remove it.

Ram the auger down into the toilet pipe until such a point that you are able to get to the blockage. then you can rotate the auger every time while applying a force that needs to be applied downwards in an effort to remove the blockage. If the tip of the auger is able to penetrate through the blockage open, then you will be able to pull out the auger and the blockage from the bowl.

You can then clean the toilet and make sure that the blockage has been totally cleared out. If the blockage is a solid object stuck in the waste outlet, then you might have to take the bowl away.

Pressure washer

If in the previous method you find results, then the use of a pressure washer may be required just because of a blockage deep down the waste pipe. However, if you wish to use your pressure washer to unclog the toilet, you have to use pipe cleaning equipment such as a long hose with a perfect nozzle.

This will be inserted into your toilet that starts from the nozzle and ends up at the hose. Some pressure washers have a nozzle that pulls outside, and when you start your pressure washer off, the nozzle will be pulled into the pipe by the jet of water from the nozzle from the other side.
